Designated Term Pastor

Pastor Connor Filkins is a Connecticut native who grew up down the road in Wallingford. He was raised in the UCC at First Congregational Church of Wallingford. Pastor Connor graduated from Albertus Magnus College in 2016 with a bachelors in Philosophy and Religion, and went on to graduate from St. Louis' Eden Theological Seminary in 2019 with his Masters in Divinity. He has a passion for the outdoors and sports. He continues to coach and play baseball in the area, as well as volleyball, which he played competitively at Albertus. Pastor Connor joined Center Church as the Designated Term Pastor in the spring of 2020 as his first call out of seminary. Click here to schedule a meeting with Pastor Connor!

Christian Education Director

Maureen Hamilton is our Director of Christian Education and coordinates the CCC Youth Group. Maureen teaches 5th and 6th grade in the Regional District #13 school system. She is married and has two adult children. Maureen has been a member of the United Church of Christ since her childhood. She works tirelessly to support all members of Center Church on their own personal faith journeys.

Music Director

Pranik Chainani is a current undergraduate student at Yale University. He was born and raised in Houston, Texas where he had the privilege of studying jazz music under renowned pianist Bobby Lyle as well as sacred music under concert organist Dr. Michael David Ging. He was formerly the organist-in-residence at Joy Lutheran Church in Richmond, Texas. He looks forward to exploring and sharing his passion for music with Center Church!

Church Secretary

Joan was born in Meriden and spent her whole life here. She graduated from Maloney High school and attended Quinninpiac (College) University. She has two daughters, Kimberly and Jennifer, two wonderful grandchildren, Emily and Evan. She has been a member of Center Church for over 50 years and the church secretary since 1994. She has been on several church committees, and also taught Sunday School for many years and served on the Board of Deacons, the Christian Education Committee and most recently on the Missions Board.
